So after curing and cycling the dry rocks in my garden for more than two months (salt water) , I moved them to the new tank , and the "BIG DAY" arrived.
10.27.2007 Moving some of the live rocks, corals and fish to the new tank. Poor looking tank The new rocks placed on the bottom and old live rocks covered them on the top. Some live rock moved to the refuge tank. Many of the old corals bleached and needed long time to recover. All fish survived. After few days the closet is put together. WOW! Amazing tanks. I cant wait to see the progression from the beginning. Was the aquarium built by a local company (by that I mean mom and pop or do they do public aquariums)?
Do all those clownfish get along? How many are there?

Thanks TRITON 1.
Yes, local company built it for me. We have some talented guys here. The silicone gluing was by the "German method" : 3-5 mm of black silicone between the glass plates for extra elasticity. I have about 10 clowns. Planning on more. No problems at all. It's a big tank and they are all over. some in the anemone, some in the elegant coral or euphilia. No clashes at all. Moshik |

Moshik -
Amazing tank. I really like what you have done! Very simple yet elegant rock work with a lot of open swimming space. Please post more updated pictures to see how the corals have filled in and colored up. Best, Itay. |

How do you prevent accumulation of detritus and other particles beneath the rock? I love the way you elevated your rock but I'm curious as to how you prevent a buildup under there. Everything looks great so it must be working out for you.

Thank you guys.
Itay, the simple rockwork provides a lot of swimming space for fish and space for bottom corals, mushrooms, clams and zoanthids. The space under the rocks gives great hiding places for the tank inhabitants. Here's a pic' from December 2007 Soon, in a year or a little more, the rocks will not be seen at all. I hope corals will cover everything (as in my old tank). Bill, as I showed in my pic's, a long drilled pipe (1 inch) spreading water jets under the rocks. 2 locklines are spreading wider jets under every "rock hill". Big cleaning crews are doing the rest. Some sand and bigger particles do accumulate there, but I don't think it's a problem. Moshik |

Thank you for the explanation. As I look at the pics again, I see what you mean. The FTS looks great. Very well done.

you have a nice tank and congrats on the new tank. But seriously you just abandoned the old tank and let stuff die? I mean this is the reason prices go up in the hobby and the worlds reefs suffer because think they will just buy more no big deal. You really should think about conservation and propagation it would have gave you more room in your tank and you cold have made some money. Im sorry but people that act like this in our hobby disgust me.

TXReefer21 you are self-righteous person and I have to say I'm sorry but it disgust me more.
You don't know me and my contribution to the hobby. I don't make money from this hobby and propagation over the years was my fun. Many of my friends enjoy it. If you care about conservation, which is an important issue, you should've stayed out of this hobby. Kipping the old tank alive while constructing the new system was almost impossible. Many of the corals moved to friends tanks. |

Well done!
Especially impressed with the sand dividing skirt fronting the structure you built. Great idea!
