I have the aquaticlife 115 and was able to get it in chamber 1 on my CL BC29 but there was always a chance of moving it up or down when i opened or closed the hood.
I have been toying with the idea of hanging an aquamaxx HOB-1 on it but the wife doesn't like the idea of a skimmer sticking up behind the tank and I am conserend not only with the amount of cutting required but will the lid still open on the remaining hinges? After reading this thread, I am reevaluating using my 115 but in chamber 2, which will require using an ATO. The problem being, and this is a new and still cycling setup, that I was planning on using kalkwasser for all my topoff watter, added based on the ph readings from my Neptune Ph based topoff off will mostly occur at night when the lights are off and photosynthesis is down and Co2 is up. For the in-chamber-2 skimmer option to work, topoff needs to occur during the day when the lights are on and evperation is up to keep the level in ch2 consistent.
