banggi cardinal eating eggs

as my title says i have a pair cardinals the male ends up eating the eggs after about day ten is this normal for a younger fish i have only had them about six months. this is the third time he has done this

Yes very normal. My Cardinals have had eggs 8 times now. He has only carried them to fry once, but we were out of town and they became fresh food. Just this week they had another batch and daddy only held them for 1 day. They will get it eventually, no need to worry.

However we have tried on our own and only 1 of the 10 or so that hatched is still alive. Just tonight he is finally eating frozen and he hatched 2 months ago.
