My squamosa is no more.
RIP no more clam for now, I'm presently dealing with an asterina invasion and i decided to add a harlequin shrimp to deal with the problem. The little guy seem to enjoy is new home and is busy eating/hunting. I added him yesterday and this morning... Run for your life! I never saw so many asterina in my glass (over 30). Some new pics
Walt Disney first pic with flash There was some problems with my orange passion First a floating polyp from my hammer settled in the middle of it leaving a big dead spot. I decided to cut it in case it get infected then some weeks later i had to treat for aefw. It meant removing the already small frag from it's place and ending up with a smaller frag. For now the remaining piece seem healthy. New fish Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Thanks, the nudibranch were quite easy to take care of, another story for the aefw but i'm quite sure the problem is resolved.
I did the work last spring and i haven't seen a single worm or sign of it since. I will do an update on how i got rid of it soon. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

FTS from last week
There was some changes in the fish population earlier this year. I added two angels back in march, a regal and a majestic. The yellow tang went berserk and would have killed them in no time, so i decided to bring him back to my lfs and give a try to the angels. In the shop i saw a small purple tang and the owner was willing to trade my adult for it. So now the angels were the biggest and no other tankmate tried to beat them up. Also i removed my sailfin (near the fall of 2018) in the attemp to save my clam (he was nipping it). The angels still do fine and are not too hard on the sps, another story for the lps however. My 100 gal reef
THE AEFW TREATMENT
Last fall i had some troubles with a few of my acros, stn on my blue/purple tort rtn on a piece from fiji, rtn on my ice and fire frag. All this led me to watch them more closely and then i realised that some of my high end frags started to show signs of aefw. I knew i still had them in the tank but never decided to really eradicate them... yet. Some fallen acros... for this reason or another. Not sure on the cause of their demise. Blue tort The fiji piece, only a small frag remain So, i decided that the time was there to do the proper treatment: 1- remove all acros from the rocks and place them on plugs. 2- dip in melafix each week for 6 weeks. Let's say the first treatment was quite a job, but by the third one i was able to do it under one hour. For the time of the treatment i installed all of my acros on a sheet of plexiglass and some frags holder. I did not lose a single frag during the process and after it i never saw worms or sings of them on random checks. I think this time it was the good one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
