RO Unit?

Hello, I'm shopping for a good RO unit. I can't plum a line where I am so I was wondering if this would do as well as 1 of the units I'd get at the Local fish store. Will it do the same job. I'd be using it to do a 5% water change weekly and top offs. I have a 60 gal tank with 50lbs of live rock, no coral (that's why I'm getting one) 4 fish, 10 hermit crabs and 4 snails. Everything else is good accept for minerals are high in my water. (the reason I'm buying an RO unit)

However, you can get a "normal" RO/DI unit, and just hook it up to a faucet;

Any reason why you don't want a RO/DI unit? Its not that much more expensive, and you've got more peace of mind that its not your water source that is causing your crazy tank problems in the future.

Agree with Todd. Get an RO/DI that hooks up to your faucet. No plumbing required.

+1 on the RO/Di unit. itll make your water changes/mixes so much less stressful. and you know exactly where your water is coming from. no plumbing required. and another +1 for BRS. I purchased mine from them and they have great prices and customer service.

Thank you very much. I'm new to the hobby and I just didn't know any better. I will get one whenever I get the $. Hopefully I'll be able to post some nice coral pics for years to come.

The link you provided doesn't work (on my iPhone at least?), however it did state at the end of the post that he/she is indeed buying an RO unit! If you can't plumb it into a cold water copper pipe via the self piercing saddle valve or an outside tap/faucet then you can always connect it via the washing machine cold water feed with one of these.
