Drip Pan Recommendation
I am in the midst of plumbing my 60 gal reef and had an idea last night about using a drip pan in my cabinet for leaks and splashes from the sump. I've had a few leaks in my day and they are never fun.
I'll need a 42x27 pan, perhaps a 3/4 inch drain. There are some custom places out there but I've also seen air conditioner condensation pans, and washing machine pans, that are close...I even saw a dog crate pan that looks pretty close in size. Any thoughts on this? TIA!

What's the inside of your stand like? Why not just waterproof your stand vs put a separate pan in it?

Nothing special. Its primed and painted. I am more interested in protecting my floor and contents in the rare chance something does happen. Also, wouldn't it be convenient to be able to drain a reactor or line right into the pan?
Old story from another build...I had a kalc reactor plumbed into my undersink RODI and then into my sump via an ATO float valve. Went away for work and the reactor seal failed. Cost me a few grand to repair the ceiling below and floor. Ouch. Not a good design I know now but it seams there are always failures in this hobby.

A rubber liner could be used also.
To my surprise my stand came with a PVC bottom & up the sides a few inches.

I decided to order one of these - MidWest Homes for Pets Dog Crate Replacement Pans. $25 and free delivery... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I 'll do a DIY drain before I fill the tank and I should be good...

I just purchased pond liner and made a drip tray out of that. You can see them in the bottom of my closets here

I used shower liner from home depot. Goes up about 5 inches on the side and back. The front is flat, so it isn't in my way. It doesnt hold water, but at least keeps it from the sides and back so I can clean it up easier

Try a swimming pool supply store. They sell shallow pans for storing chlorine jugs. Not sure of the sizes.
