Marineland's perfecto 60 gallón cube with overflow
I picked up a Marineland 60 gallon cube from a moving sale for $80.00 still in the box but have been reading about all of the bad pub about the overflow box issues. Has anyone taken out the Marineland overflow and added glass holes. I was going to order the marineland the 45g cube undrilled and then drill it, but this was too good to pass up any thoughts???

I might be buying the 60 RR next month as have been reading negative reviews as well. Majority are a few years old and maybe they fixed a few things.

Other than the overflow being tight I have no problem with it. I did build an external durso so it's quiter.

I am also going to be ordering the same tank and haven't heard anything about the overflow. only concerns i've read are about the small area under the stand to fit everything haha

Just finishing my 60 cube. I used the 3/4" as the full siphon drain, the 1" as the emergency drain and brought the returns iver the top. Dead silent.

Anyone out there have this tank and could share some info, pros, cons, pics? I’m specifically talking about the 2x2x2 with the corner overflow. Know this post is from awhile ago, but thanks!

Update on my 6 year old comment above. The tank was drilled with to holes at the top of the overflow which I converted to a Herbie. Worked great but I failed to recognize that silt was accumulating in the bottom of the column overflow. Struggled with nitrates and phos for years. Broke the tank down after 4 years to find about three inches of smelly $hit in the bottom. Ala, septic tank or a reasonable facsimile. The tank was on a tall stand in a corner and the back wasn’t accessible without great effort, and wasn’t. Lesson learned.
