Water Reservoir - Salt Water - Plastic or Poly

I have limited space for a mixing station to support my auto water change system. I need to use a Rubbermade Slim Jim (23G) trashcan given the space. They make the product in both plastic and polyethylene. If I use this to hold and mix saltwater, will it matter if I'm using the plastic or polyethylene? There is obviously a price difference.

Check for an NSF certification. Ideally, that’s the one you want to use.
