underwater spider web?...any suggestions?
Just looking for an ID for this thing. I noticed it forming a few days ago and now its pretty much closed in except for the hole you can see. Thanks!

Looks like a sponge of some sort to me.

Good thing. Filter feeder cleans the water. Also suggests good water quality.

The white thing with the hole in it looks like a sponge of some sort, but those little trees growing from the rock are Foraminiferans I believe. (harmless)
