Glacier water in California
Hello everyone! This is my first post here. New to the hobby and its been about 2 months I started my nano cube. Like many of you I am obsessed with this new hobby. Waking up and looking at my aquarium is the first thing I do every morning. I can’t stop thinking about it.
Excitement aside, I’ll shoot my question: Is Glacier water in California safe for reef tanks. Since the last one month I’ve been using Glacier water for my aquarium. It is RO water with 4 other filtration mechanisms. By glacier water I mean water that you get outside of stores from vending machines. There is one very close to my place outside a Safeway in Sunnyvale. I was skeptical initially, but after going through some forums such as this and this, I thought of giving it a try myself. I tested the water for phosphates and nitrates they are all 0 (if of course my API Reef master kit is correct). My corals are doing okay so far, but I wanted to ask if anyone else had experience with glacier water here in California. I do not have a TDS meter yet, but could use some knowledge if anyone else has tested Glacier water. My tank mainly has softies in it. Specifically: Xenia, Mushroom, Goniopora and Zoanthids. |
