Creates 29 gallon build
Hello,
I started this tank March 21 2010. At first I just put 40lb of live sand in it with base rock (had been outside for about 4 years, I cleaned it and had it cycling in water for about 2 weeks prior to use. After a few weeks I got 16 lbs of live rock and placed it in the tank to cycle. It has pretty much cycled now but I am having a lot of diatoms hit me and wanted to see if this looks normal. This is the first full week that I have had the lights on 12 hours a day. Does this look normal? I have not been doing water changes during the cycling period. BTW. The tank seems to have fully cycled. Ammonia looks to be at 0, nitrates 0, nitrites 0. PH of 8.2, sg 1.0225. I have ordered a HOB refugium/cpr protein skimmer that will be here thursday. I used RO water to begin with. Anyway, thanks for looking. Ben |
