Ghetto nitrate control - Chaeto in overflow

Trying to get nitrates back to 0. I had a cheap Coralife dual T5 24" lying around. I attached it to the side of my 93G cube overflow and put some chaeto in the overflow. I have low flow so it's not going to be sucked up or anything. If it does, I will probably tie it using a small pvc that will hold it to the bottom.

The only doubt I have is if the T5 will provide it with enough light to grow at a fast enough rate.

Nice. I am sure your lights are powerful than mine.

Be careful about it clogging your overflow.

Yeah I don't think it will work long term. I will probably move this to the sump asap.

Thanks. The T5 that I was using bit the dust (had been dropped in water before).

I moved the chaeto in the sump and used a nice cheap red LED floodlight from ebay.
