60G Cube 24x24x24 Powerhead

Hello all!

New to the forum but long time hobbyist, my 60 gallon cube has been up and running for the past month now and for flow all I've got currently is a 600GPH powerhead and also the flow from my return which is rated 700GPH.

Obviously I need more, right now I have a LPS dominant tank and will have some SPS in the future once I upgrade my light.

I tried out a Jebao PP-8, did not like it....it looked really bulky in my cube and it seemed way too powerful for my cube. The narrow stream was not expected either, I had an MP10 before and liked that but do not want to result in having two. I have considered one MP40.

Basically my goal is, just one powerhead for the tank....Any suggestions?

I am looking for something controllable, wide flow, right now I think the one MP40 might be my best bet?

Thanks, Honks!

I was reading on other forums that two MP10s would be better than the MP40 but I did not want to spend 500 bucks for two wave makers. Appreciate your input

for longer tanks i agree two vs one is better but at only 24" one mp40 does the trick

good luck

I got a local guy selling an MP40 cheap, so I am going to use that on my back wall and maybe I will supplement the MP10 when I can get one somewhat cheaper during Black Friday.

Where did you place both pumps?
