Mixing station question
I improved on my previous mixing station and have had this one running for 6 months now.
My question is regarding the side chute that I made to dump the salt into. I can put in 2 cups at a time but it doesn’t fall freely like I imagined it. I have to push it down with a rod and wiggle it around. How else can I redo this, given that I don’t have any room between barrels to make a place to drop it in the lid?

Take out the 1.5" 90deg and put a 3" 45deg on there.

Could just turn your pump on and use that hose in the picture to wash it down the hole.

That was the original pump which wasn’t quite strong enough to consistently push out water all the way to the living room. I went up 2 models and the new one has too much pressure to do what you suggest. IlYour input is much appreciated

That's what valves are for.

All right, I think I see where you guys are going with this. I’ll try that next time I mix up some salt

Too much [transient] output from a pump is a problem that does not exist. Honestly, tho, I would suck it up and - with a bit of replumbing and corner posts - raise your FW tank so you can just dump salt into your missing tank directly. Think about the PITA of needing to rinse down salt weekly after buying then drilling a larger bulkhead vs. being able to dump in a bag in 10s. Then multiple by the number of times you will do it per year then the number of years you hope to use the system and you will realize that a half day will add years of useful time to your life.
