cleaning new tank
Is there a specific process to cleaning a new tank before filling it with water? Is it even necessary? I figure just wipe it down w/ a mixture of water/vinegar?

Wipe everything down with a vinegar soaked paper towel and then rinse thoroughly. You never know what contaminate might have gotten in the tank before you bought it. Better safe than sorry.

I always filled it with creah water and let it run a day or two. That way it is leak tested. Then, drain it and fill with salt water. :-)

i usually use a combination of the two above posts. give a light clean with vinegar, wash it out as good as i can, then fill with hose water and test for leaks etc...
then fill it with RODI, salt, and enjoy.
