Thank you!
I'm more proud of the fuss-free and lower cost part of this sort of aquarium vs reef tank

Love the view.

With respect to red macro growth, I have added iron and iodine as additives to dose. The iron is obvious. To me, iodine was counter intuitive. I remember reading it, but I can’t find the link.

PS: K reread last page and see where you are already dosing that.

Traded some macros over the weekends, please help me with the ID if you are positive about it

This could be flat blade Gracilaria?

And maybe Liagora?

And a bad news. The regal Tang died too it was the most aggressive fish in the tank. And there has been a series of mysterious death of healthy fishes recently.

I've also caught a Gorilla Crab :O

Ending the post with photos of the inhabitances, please no more missing/dead fishes!

Picture #1 looks to be Gracilaria Hayi on the left. Hayi is high in calcium. Is it somewhat stiff?
https://www.marineplantbook.com/marinebookgrachayi.htm

Gracilaria Tikvahiae has tree seperate cultivars with “flat bladed” being one of them.
https://www.algaebarn.com/product-category/macro-algae/

Gorilla Crab is a vicious predator of anything that is eatable. It is a carnivore.

Very nice. Great variety of color and texture. The mangrove is a nice addition too. It's always fun to see what your tank is up to! So consistently good!

Cksss, I always enjoy your FTS! Your tank has evolved beautifully.

Also, it inspires me to keep moving on mine!

How's the mangrove holding up? I would think it would be in shock for awhile, then bounce back. I bet with your tank's location, it will thrive! Ah, the Penthouse life!

Thank you! i've been following your post and your recent re-creation of the mangrove root replica closely too And i'm starting to be concern about the mangrove in my tank. The 'trunk' of the mangrove has turned black and is covered by some hairalgae like algae, except they're of a darker tone. It is still growing though.

Thanks for following my thread, cksss!

Those roots look like they were buried in mud before. Consider trying to approximate that in your tank. Since mangroves are higher plants, their roots are made to take up nutrients from the soil. You could plant it in a pot and put that in your tank, for more flexibility. Some thoughts. Good luck!

I'm inspired by your tank actually, and really want the root to be exposed and used as part of the decoration and hide out for the smaller fishes It was just a pod when i gotten it, with no roots nor leafs. Do you think they will continue to grow without the roots buried in the soil/sand?

Was planning to account for these home-bred starfishes but most of them are lumped together! XD

I have zero experience with mangroves, so I'm not qualified to advise you. The fact that you got it this far from a seed is impressive! I agree, the roots arching through the water is one of the main attractions of them. In nature, the roots eventually reach soil, so I think that should be provided. I would expect getting at least some of the roots buried would help. Whether it will continue to grow without soil is a good question, and one I don't know the answer to. Ask the internet maybe?
