orchid shrimp, can i not give them star fish diet?
Today I received couple of orchid shrimp (hymenocera picta) from one of my friend. Anyone knows is it possible to keep them without feeding them with star fish diets?

No, if you don't feed them starfish, they will starve over the time

ok looks like something wrong with my orchid shrimps, I put them in my main tank and gave them few star fish, but I don’t think they like any of them. Once I saw they were on top of the star fish but only for 10 minutes and they move away from star fish.
Maybe I’m giving wrong type of star fish but unfortunately only these 2 types are commonly available in Sri Lanka. Someone knows is these the right type of star fish for the orchid shrimps? i move thees guys to my refugium.

You need to be able to feed them starfish or they will eventually die. depending on the size one starfish will last them a while. If you give them a descent sized star fish you may only have to do that once a month.

The shrimp will eat the starfish when they're hungry. Leave them with some starfish or they will starve.
