Chalice question
Has anyone ever had success with a chalice frag that was half healthy tissue and half dead skeleton? I bought a frag like this and was wondering if it has a solid chance for growing into a large, healthy colony. The fleshy parts look quite healthy. Frag (live and dead parts) is about the size of a 50 cent piece.
I have photos but cant for the life of me figure out how to post them

To post photos, you need to upload to something like Flickr and then use the share option to get to an image tagged bit of code to paste.
The answer is yes, a chalice that has died back can grow into a colony. If it won't grow over the old skeleton, you may need to trim that part off, but I bought a Bazooka Joe that was in that condition and it's doubled in size in about two months. It hasn't completely grown back over the old skeleton, yet.

What I have done in the past is use CA glue the edges of the healthy tissue to minimize it from receding further, keep in the shade and occasional feedings.

Here is the pic of the chalice I started this thread about. This is also a test for my first photo post.
