Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Besides what I've already posted in this thread what kind of microfauna are you looking for?

I wanted to get some better shots of worms and copepods and such in situ rather than scraped up on a slide. Unfortunately I don't have a macro lens.

Well, macro/micro photography is most definitely fun too. My focus has been photomicrography. I have certainly found many worms and pods of various types and posted their images here right from where they were inhabiting and watching them interact live, why I haven't stained, which is in the videos I've posted too. I suck my samples up and drip them onto the slide doing minimal damage if any at all.

Some white pom pom pulsing xenia.

For this one I broke out the razor and sliced off a single pom pom

Pretty cool.

Good read on zooxanthellae
http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2013/5/corals

Found them in an out of the xena on the slide. Lots of them. Keep in mind they are one of many varieties of dinoflagelets but once in a coral will lack a flagelet and are immobile.

I'm following. Also I have been looking at microscopes with cameras built in that allow viewing from a laptop. Is that what you using? If so what kind/brand/model?

That's the kit I got. I wanted the top mount so the dual eye pieces are free for my eyes. I also didn't want the camera built in so if it breaks or I want to up grade it I could easily swap it out.

Back to Bacteria in a bottle. I've looked at Instant Ocean Biospira, Dr. Tim's one and only, and Dr. Tim's Eco Balance.

Of those it was only the one and only I didn't find any bacteria but plenty of detritus.

Tonight I'm looking at Microbacter7. It reminds me a lot of the Eco Balance but there is visually some differences in some of the bacteria.

Do you think the "one and only" bottle was bad or just a poor product put on the market?

Good question. I'd have to get another bottle at some point to find out.
