New tank what would you do?
Hi
I'm gonna set a new tank after several years out of the hobby, but i can decide between going with a 96x24x24 or a 72x30x24, I want to keep total water volume under 350 including sump.

Those are both nice size tanks. I think the 30” depth from front to back would be my choice.

96" for the swimming length... I would have gone longer instead of higher if I could have but I was space limited

Depends on the fish you want to house, big Tangs you want the 96 L, no tangs. I would go with the 30 D. Agree with others that both are GREAT size choices.
When you setup, picts please.

Intended use I guess...FO, Fowler or Reef...types of fish. I would factor everything in. I have a 50 SCA, don’t plan on any fish much bigger than a clown. If I wanted tangs, bigger tank.

Fish only I'd go with the 96 long. Reef tank the 72 long.

I vote for longer tank. DD tanks are a PITA to maintain and aquascape in.

Id pick the 72 because it’s still a 6ft tank and you could have some certain tangs in it. I also like the 30” wide for aquascaping. That extra 6” in width would allow for some really unique scaping. Just my thoughts

I’d do the 30 if it was a peninsula...otherwise 24 for more frontal viewing plus swimming length

I think you need to compromise 96 x 30 deep x 24 tall, so you go over you 350 g!
