Red Doreensis

I have been looking for a nice LTA, either purple or better yet red. By chance I got a glimpse at a few tentacles of this anemone. Anyway, I got it but it won't get to Corpus until next week. I am not sure if the color get boosted a little or not.

What do you guys think? Is this a rare and beautiful anemone?

Looks like the two LTAs AC had last Saturday - a pink and a purple. Did you order it from them?

I've got a similar looking one. I think the picture is accurate. The price on it was very reasonable considering the rarity. Good luck with it!

It looked like that, very nice color.
The other one may have been even nicer in color, but I couldn't get the best view and it was all curled up.

They also had some really nice wild BTAs:

Also a very nicely colored haddoni:

And if someone is looking for some really crazy stuff, here you go:

Not sure if this is the same haddoni, but they just posted a photo via their Facebook page. "Two tone haddoni carpet $150 8" diameter. Shipping available"

Vincent send me the picture of the Haddoni but I saw a few tentacles of the Doreesis in that picture. I called and asked them to send me the picture of it and then bought it. I think the Doreensis is a better and rarer find for sure

Most definitely. I'm glad that they've been getting in a lot of different types of anemones lately.

I've avoided going to visit them since I have no money--I ordered a custom anemone tank (to replace two frag tanks) and should be picking it up from them this week. I'll see what they have and if I see anything interesting, I'll definitely report back.

I'm kinda interested in the Haddoni.. they said the rim is tan/blueish.. not really purple like the picture shows.

ThRoewer, what was your impression upon seeing it? eye catching?

I was thinking for a moment to take it when I saw it Saturday, but same problem as Derrick: out of money (out of space too).
Also I wouldn't have the clownfish for it.

And as it looks like, my crispa and all my malus may need treatment

I think it depends on the light. It looked tan/blue under actinic light, but under more full spectrum or even some red it may look purple.
It was for sure a nice one.

Looked purple to me. Not the dark purple but a duller washed out purple. The contrast with the 2 tone green is very nice. I just don't have the space in the current tank or it would have come home with me yesterday.

Often, the two town green, like in striped Haddoni, seem to show up with stress but resolved when the anemone regain his health. I got one stripped green Haddoni that this happened to umpteen years ago. Usually the green are darker with lighter green stripes. The Purple/Grey outline likely will stay.
This is not to say that this anemone does not keep his three-colors looks, but he may change to two-tones instead of three. Anyone of us who buy this should keep this in mind. I would love to see update of this Haddoni in 6 months. I almost decided to buy this one in addition to the Doreensis. However, if I do in addition to the Doreensis and the Malu from Vincent, I am likely to end up in the dog house and I don't even have a dog

no worries Minh! This Haddoni is coming to me tonight. I'll post updates later

from ThRoewer's pictures it looks like the mouth is a little gappy. I may need to put him directly into treatment

I talk to them about the Haddoni also. They seem to down described the anemone, at least to the way I think about it. They call the Doreensis as maroon, instead of red. In a way, this is better. People who do not know Doreensis may think if a Red on as bright red like Haddoni. I can see how some people who do not know anemones well, and ordered a Red Doreeensis, would be disappointed if they get my anemone.

They may boost their color up a bit, either that or because of the LED, the anemones may be a lot brighter in the pictures than in person. I have not seen my anemone in person yet so I will have to wait until I get him healthy again before I can really comment on how accurate the color of the anemone in picture vs real life.

Haddoni arrived this morning. It looks good. Mouth almost closed but I saw some expelling. Not going to risk it so treatment started.

Color looks good. this is under Kessil360. Need to see if I can bring out the rim color.

He looks good. Will need for him to recover from stress before we can really tell the final color.
