candy cane losing color

i bought this candy cane a week ago and his color wont show up. its this normal?

parameters
magnesium 1200
calcium 360
nitrates 2ppm
alk 11.8

Sure is. Move it up higher, maybe. They like a lot of light

Alk is high. Mag and calcium are low. Bring those in line, and then give it a month or so.

You asked for color.

Mine inflate and deflate daily with little change of color. At night, or when I feed, they will extend the tentacles around their oral disks and appear more "open" then, but their color doesn't change much.

I do find their overall brightness changes over time with their being more pale when less happy, and super bright when they're loving life. That's why I suggested bringing your water chemistry in bounds and giving it a month.

Personally, I wouldn't dip it at this point.

I would just wait. Keep alk between 7-10, a little high is not bad, but lower than 7 can be a problem. Try to bump up calcium a little. Over 400 is generally the most accepted level. Mag is good. How many fish do you have and how often do you feed? Besides alk, ca, and mg, coral need some food. That means feeding fish regularly so they can then feed the coral with their waste.

i feed them alot most of coral eat frozen food but the new ones refuse to eat. i feeding corals with reef frenzy coral food
