For the past month or so I have been using the hydras... I have had nothing but issues with my sps.... Most sps have died or near death... Turning brown, tips rtn, literally just burning under the lights.... I thought I was not giving enought light, but then when I cranked them up.... That's when things went down hill....

So where I am at now.... Whites 35, blues 60 violet 40 red 10 green 10 and uv 10

Then I set acclimation mode at 50% for 1 month

Let's see what happens

Really, im having good results with them. I did dial down the colors a bit, since I was frying ****. Using whites 35, blues purple 50, gree red at 20. 1pm to 12 am4 hr ramp. Sps are dong very good . Howeve zoas are looking bleached. Maybe cause I dont have fish. Havent had any fish for 4 weeks now, since I had an ich outbreak. I recently started feeding the tank reef chilly. Hoping they look better soon.

I think with those settings and acclimation at 50% you barely have enough light. My sps are growing like MAD using
white 45%
blues 75%,
red green, 40%
UV 65%
ramping up from sunrise around 8am until 10:30 am, then a spike to those max numbers from 10:30am until 3pm, then down until sunset around 7:30 PM.

Here are some before and after shots, 60 days apart.
Before

After

Birdsnest Before, hard to see but its in the back behind the trumpet

After

Unknown before

Unknown After, there are also 5 more "fingers" growing on the backside towards the light not visible in this pic.

unknown before

unknown after

I did make the mistake of setting this too high and went from this

to this in 3 days

How far up do you have your lights at? 12""?
I guess everyone's tank is different, but since I've lowered the lights, I'm getting crazy colors out of my softies.... The sps still look like sh,,
I'm thinking that all the corals were use to the panorama pro LEDs... So tithe hydras are about 10x more powerful.... So dialing them back is the way to go...

If anyone wants to buy my hydras 330 a piece.... Let me know... Might go to sols

When I first mounted them I ran them at around 45% and 7" from water surface and everything was great, I just raised them to about 10" to spread a little more coverage since I am still only running one hydra. I don't think these need to be run anywhere over 80% with 60% being safe zone.

Mine are currently 11" exactly lol nice guess!!

Some SPS browned out a tad due to them getting used to the uv. But they started coloring up now and have crusted a ton. Keep your hydras don't go back to sol!!

seems like you are not taking advantage of any new leds hydra brings. how come? with settings like these its just like running sol superblue just at lower intensity/coverage.

I just got the upgrade in today. I plan on slowly increasing the the other colors by 2% a week.
I rather play it safe as to not burn any of my Sps.
I ran my sol blues at the highest
blue 74%
Royal Blue 74%
Cool White 38%
