240 Update

I have spent the day doing a major clean on my 240.
I have a 240 DT that flows into another 240 frag tank in the basement, this then flows into a 100 Gal sump which is then pumped back up to the DT.

I haven’t been able to give it the time it deserves with my crazy work schedule.

Since I was giving it a deep clean and putting in new sand and pumps I thought I try something a little different.
I put in acrylic shelves and placed the rock on it.
I was going for a floating reef but didn’t work out as expected

Has anyone tried using shelves in the tank for rocks?
I can see a benefit for water flow but I also see an issue with not being able to clean the sand because of the shelves.
