MP40 - no wireless driver, old style magnet
MP40w Gen1 - wireless wave driver, old style magnet MP40w Gen2 - wireless wave driver with new code, new style magnet

MP138 is the WWD which will upgrade an MP40 to an MP40w. To upgrade a Gen1 to a Gen2 you will need MP154 which is the magnet kit.

I realize this is an old post that I'm tagging along on, but I'm doing basically the same thing. I have a gen 1 mp40 that I finally want to upgrade to an MP40w. I have the new driver, but not the magnet. Where can I find the $10 magnet upgrade?

We no longer sell upgrade kits for Gen2, the best option is to either purchase the parts individually, or purchase a new wet side.

you will need the magnet, magnet screw, nut, and the wet frame cover.

Bringing this back from the dead.... a decade ago. which is coincidentally how old the MP40 i just found is. It has a silverish magnet. Is this safe for the tank?
