Skimmer for 150g
As the title says, looking for a skimmer for my new 150/40g sump SPS dominant reef. I have narrowed it down to a Reef octopus SRO 3000 int, elite 200int, or bubble magus curve 9. What would you pick? Open to new suggestions as well, just really seems like RO is the way to go.

I have had a few skimmers and the ro has been the best and most consistent.
How you plan on stocking the tank with fish will determine what size you need |

I'd pick the bubble magus.. because I have a curve 5 and am very happy with it..

The reason why the bubble magus is included is because I now use a 3.5 on my 40b and it performs well, however the RO line seems much better built and the pump seems to be more reliable. The tank will have a medium bioload, probably 1 or 2 tangs, a trio of anthias, 2 clowns, several wrasses, a goby or two and a couple miscellaneous small fish.
Is the Elite worth the extra $ or is the performance similar to the SRO? |

Reef Octopus, lots of size choices...well made, works well, easy to get parts if you need them...what else do you need..just recommend buying a skimmer that is at least 50% larger than what is needed for your tank volume. I have Two(2) and never had an issue with customer service...they were fast and got the right part the first time...

The Reef Octopus is a good choice. However, a Vertex is better build.

I'd love to try a reef life but I'm very turned off by the large pumps needed to run them, and it seems the newer DC pumps don't do nearly as well a job. This has turned me back to the newer style of skimmer to keep noise and heat as well as power consumption down. I like the price of the simplicity, but I will have the sump space to have a pump mounted externally from the skimmer so I'd like to go this route for longer dwell time.
