Sump Build

I'm building a 30g sump for a 75g tank. I know how I want the different areas of the sump layed out I just don't know how tall I should make the first baffle. Sump is 30" long and 18" tall. I've got my first baffle planned at 14" tall and then dropping the subsequent baffles by 1". Any advice is appreciated.

there are many threads on here about sumps you would need to figure out your layout first as to where drain, return lines skimmer etc are going to be placed then adjust your baffles accordingly.

I don't think willy correctly read the post..croc knows where he wants to put them, just not how tall.

Anyways, I don't see a problem with dropping them an inch each time

Thanks, So I guess it really does not matter how tall the first baffle is as long as I've got enough water for the skimmer to work.

ok yeah sorry u will need the first one the tallest .the last one that is put in that goes to the bottom the height of it will determine your constant water level for skimmer with two on each side for a bubble trap bout 2 inches or so off bottom
