Funny thing is, I just looked up my bluetooth card. Realtek RTL8761ATV-CG

  • Fast AGC control to improve receiving dynamic range
  • Supports AFH to dynamically detect channel quality to improve transmission quality
  • Integrated internal Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 PA
  • Bluetooth 3.0+HS compatible
  • Supports Power Control/Enhanced Power Control
  • Bluetooth Low Energy Support
  • Integrated 32K oscillator for power management
Oh and I have my laptop(windows 10) to run at 100% power with no timeout when plugged in. So the card is not going into low power state while trying to transfer the data(and yes my actual BT card is set to 100% power while plugged in).

Not that it matters since the thing is in the garbage.

Like I said before, hardware is great, software leaves a little less to be desired.
@Homer
Please let me focus on facts.
We have only two ways:
1) firmware update app is not working and it's not possible to perform firmware update on any OS(Windows/Mac etc).
if above would be valid - NOBODY could be able to do firmware update using our app because if it's software released bug - this error should exist on all computers(for all users).
As it was proven also here by many Customers - Customers can update firmware on their devices(without matter what it is - LED lamp, doser, T5 lamp etc). All our devices use the same Class 1 modules made by Ryason.
In opposite to you - you can trust me or not, we have much more knowledge in this matter collected since 2009 year selling probably over 12-14.000 devices worldwide.
IF there are problems with CRC during firmware updates - they MUST be related only with that reasons:
a) weak BT module signal (small power radio installed in laptop). Placing laptop even on the doser or minimum distance will not help.
b) antivirus program which affect communication between two serial profile devices
c) energy saving modes, turned on screensaver(which stop BT communication ) etc.

So - reassuming above - there have to be something with your BT module/computer.
2) There is a problem related with your computer/bluetooth.

About technical details listed by you - maybe I wasn't clear.
Im talking about RF transmitter output ower not communication profiles supported by your computer.
It's like talking in many languages (your computer can do that) - but depending how "noisy" he is talking - is possible or not to perform that operation(our doser simply "doesn't hear" him).
It will be easier if you will post here backside sticker of your laptop(with model number and manufacturer info - ) it will explain everything.
Please post this photo here.

And Im not talking that your BT is crappy - it's probably to weak to perform that operation properly.

Oh! I think I’ve found it!!!

You guys have placed the Doser firmware under Android icon... clever...

Suggestion: please help the customer and place the firmware (tool and files) under a proper dedicated tab/icon named: Download Firmware/tool !!!!

Hello

Did You already upgrated firmware in Your doser? If You still have any problem please send mail at service@pacific-sun.eu we will help You to make upgrade remotely.

Regarding problems with finding firmware file on our web site - we added separate link for firmware file on download section of Kore dosers.
We hope it would be more clear now.

Best regards
Pacific Sun Service.

Hi All

I have Kore 5th ultimate pack that includes Doser+stirrer+ato+awc dc pumps

When I check the Doser back side there is only one I/O connection wiretap in Manuel awc dc pumps, stirrer.

Is that means we can choose only one device and can’t use stirrer together with awc dc pump set?

I hope not, as there is no warning about this...

Thanks for advice

As close to the end of the tubing as possible. I use the drop doser and place the check valves about two inches above it.

I'm having difficulties trying to calibrate the pumps....is there a demonstration video anywhere that can illustrate? Link? I am following the instructions but none of the pumps are pulling anything from the proportioned liquid....I'm hoping I am doing something wrong.

Do you have to check valves installed correctly? Thin side should be facing the water and fat side facing the doser.... having them installed the wrong way will prevent the solutions from flowing.

If that is correct... make sure you have the tubing installed correctly. Maybe you reversed the tubing on the dosing heads?

If all that is correct you need to give the fluid time to flow from the source into the tank... use the cylinder to hold overflow once the lines are primed.

If all that is done then I’m out of ideas.

The tubing is the problem.....it wasn't making a tight connection. I purchased new tubing and all the pumps are working. I also calibrated all of them. My only question left is SHOULD I use check valves? What is everyone recommending? If so then do you only use them on the side which is pulling from the containers ? Such as dosing trace elements. I have check valves with an arrow ....which direction do I place the valve....from the container to the pump or from the pump to the contsiner?

Sorry but im confused....each pump has 2 sides....1 that is pulling from a dosing container and the second side is delivering the dose. The delivery tubes/hoses will be hanging over my sump well above the water line. So...where is your check valves installed.....and thank you in advance....pics would be helpful if possible.

I used check valves, I don't think they are necessary but not a bad safety feature. The arrows should be in the direction of flow, so pump to tank placed after the dosing container and as close to the drop doser (if using one) as possible.

See attached picture.

Thanks Syntax.....the only part of the tubing from my Kore 5th doser that will be touching any fluid is the tubing PULLING fluid from the pump, (the other side of the pump and related tubing ends up in my sump). For example: I dose about 145ml of vinegar a day (carbon dosing) so that container will be pretty full and the tube submerged in the vinegar container. That will be pulled from the dosing pump and exits the pump to my sump. The tubing that ends up dripping in the sump is at least 8 inches from the water level... this being said the only thing that could possibly create a siphon effect is the vinegar. So, if at all, I would think a check valve would go there....do you agree?

My greatest fear is that a siphon effect would end up emptying the vinegar or trace elements or magnesium or potassium container in totality into my sump rather than the prescribed dosing amount......and that's what I am trying to avoid. I'm not sure that when the dosing pump shuts off that a siphon effect is guaranteed to not happen.

It’s not supposed to form a siphon because they are peristaltic pumps. The check valves, I assume, are for the freak occurrence, and to give us type “A” people a little more peace of mind

Hi Pasificsun and All

I am in love with my Kore 5th Ultimate Pack and I am using all options for several months.
One of the best investment I did for my tank.

AWC Improvement Need:
I have only one improvement need or any suggestions to solve are welcome
I use AWC DC pumps when I calbirate DC Pump1 (Dirty Water) it never loose calibration as water level in Sump is stable so the head pressure is not changing.

However for fresh mix salt water DC pump this is not the case as head pressure is changing due to the water level decrease. I am using Vertical Style 100 Litres water tank probably 80cm height 40cm diameter. I observe each 2 days need to reduce the calibration amount approx 10ml. Is it possible to add a ratio for this so it will automatically update the DC Pump calibration? Or Maybe an option to enable Fresh Mix Tank size can be entered and then make some head pressure calculations etc according to water level (percentage of filled level) Now I need to change calibration amount every 2 days.

Looking forward to your suggestions or any other feedback from users if they face same issue.
Maybe I have some issue on the pumps and making some suggestions those will not add value?

Kindest Regards

Just look at the bolded part, then go back and read this thread, the entire thing. Every problem anyone posts about, all they have to tell anyone is this same exact thing. If bluetooth works with everything in my home and anything I want to connect to except your doser, even if its sitting on top of the doser, there might be something wrong with your BT module or coding. Not every damn computer in the world that works with everything EXCEPT your doser.

Look your not going to get any response on this forum from anyone at PacSun as no one has been in this thread from them since june.

Anyone buying this should really look elsewhere. I literally threw mine in the trash after 4 months of it intermittently working, then finally bricking itself with a firmware update. There is no way in heck I would spend extra money to send it to poland to maybe get it back working only after several months of no doser. By that time any sane person would just buy another doser and tell poland to keep their giant POS.

And YES I will tell anyone that wants to buy this, to go elsewhere.

Im really happy that your BT is working with everything on your home - but still doesn't matter in situation of BT module not support communication protocols included in Class 1 modules and supported in "full" radios included in this modules. If it would be something wrong with our coding - it should be wrong on all computers/devices or we are going way that every Customer have different software/firmware and doser. It's not working like that.

Please excuse me, as you see we are ready to answer any questions posted by our Customers but we dont have time every day to read all forums. As you can see you don't have to wait too long for my reply.
Additionally - I can only say that's not true that our company is not active in our threads, last answers made by our technical support come frequently on RC - lastly I was replying on some posts on RC in October this year. If I missed any of your question/post please take my apologies.

I'm sorry to hear that you did it. During firmware update you did probably a very simple mistake which I will explain below.

And YES I will tell anyone that wants to buy this, to go elsewhere.
You quoted some my answers to you:
Ok explain this to me then... Why can I go back to original firmaware with the exact same BT module, yet updates will not take? Must be my BT module right?
It's quite easy to explain. You tried to did a firmware updates using previous version of software(which was including also firmware update option). It was working but limitation was file size - up to 32kB. All latest version are compatible also with Kore 7th and size is much bigger - thats why it require different firmware uploader which is explained on our website(in download section you can find firmware, manual and special tool for doing firmware updates in our devices).
I regret that you not contacted with us earlier (with our support which reply to questions immediately) - they would be happy explain it to you and even assisi in remote firmware update(we did several times for non experienced Customers - completely for free doing also some online training for them). If course, even with weak radio uploading "old" firmware can generate some CRC errors (which occur when there are checksum errors during packets transmitting - mean weak radio in computer not transmit all packets properly)

This is totally not true. Think of windows updates, some fail for some, while the same exact computer owned by someone else installs them without problem. It all depends on whats on the PC prior to the update. Even basic coders know this, and yet you don't?
Please forgive me but we can't take full responsibility for Windows updates if they are not working properly or doing a mess with BT transmission. We try to do our software/code flexible as we can but we don't know what you have installed on your computer. Similar situation was on Mac computers with Maverick software where AirDrop service wasn't working properly after new system installed. Before it was working fine - and after released update to Maverick by Apple - also started working fine. Should we say in that situation that our "transmission protocol" was faulty? Rather not I think. I can post several comments of Customers which had problems which their bluetooth speakers, keyboards and wireless media devices. It was simply something wrong with that version of OS. In your situation - Im almost sure that faulty was Bluetooth module in your computer even if it was connecting with everything (as I supposed it mean mouse, maybe keyboard.).

Please allow me to move your any other post for direct communication with our technical department (if anything else need to be explained).
Tomasz from technical support will wait for your any mails on service@pacific-sun.eu

Thank you hearing that - a specially here ;-)

Hmm, please drop us email to service@pacific-sun.eu with above question./concerns - we will ask our programmers how it can be solved. Are you using latest software and firmware where both DC pumps can be calibrated right? If it will be possible to make any improvement on this from software side we will do it of course!

Looking forward to your suggestions or any other feedback from users if they face same issue.
Maybe I have some issue on the pumps and making some suggestions those will not add value?

Kindest Regards
Thank you!

BR

If you are worried about siphon effect you can you check valves - however if bottles are placed under the doser and tunings output are above water level - it shouldn't happened :-)
