Carpet need some help
My carpets mouth has been like this for 2 weeks. It looks like a big bubble. It is still really sticky and it did eat a large shrimp a couple days ago. So it will still eat. I moved it from my 265 to 90 3 weeks ago. The light is a 8 bulb t5 and it was under an 8 bulb before. Water is 35ppt, 10 to 20 nitrates, phos .1, temp 78-79.

Had that happen to mine. Regardless of all the corrections I did to the water, it was a slow death, want to say almost a year. All advice was that poor water quality lead to that state.

Thanks I just put it in Cipro as a last chance. I have it on hand just for the mag. Going try it on the carpet to see if it is infection.

Hadonni is not my specialty or anything, but I'm pretty sure the mouth was no big deal, especially 3 weeks after transfer.
I think people react too quickly sometimes, it takes weeks or more for them to truly acclimate and settle. I don't think that called for cipro, really I think just leaving it alone may have been best

I agree with davocean. Not an infection so Cipro is not going to help. Concentrate on provide good water quality. Mine resolved with water change.
