I love the build and just reread it again. A few questions.

What's the dimensions and water volume of the MRC sump?

Which flow meters did you pick up?

Now that you've been running the Genesis/storm combo, how do you like it? How do you split the "waste" drain between the two QTs?

Thanks!

Go with Flickr.com bro, it is all around a way better (FREE) photo host website that doesn't butcher the quality of your pics like PB does.

Which flow meters did you pick up? BLUE WHITE flow meters..they are simple but work. about 60 bucks.

Now that you've been running the Genesis/storm combo, how do you like it? How do you split the "waste" drain between the two QTs? The Genesis has been running perfectly. I have one drain line gravity feed to the top of each QT with a valve on the ends. You do not need a severe slope. Both valves are wide open because each QT tank receives the "drain water" evenly....but you have the option to adjust if necessary, say you are treating one QT and so you do not want to dilute the medication for a few days.

Thanks!

If that happens, then the DT water will continue to drain until it hits the return

Right?
keep a lock line return at water level. When return pump shuts off, the siphon will break. You can do a Durso stand pipe if you don't want your overflows to drain.

Magnificent setup, especially the hidden door. The dual bean animal, they said it couldn't be done, so glad I found your thread. I have a dual ghost overflow and Reef Savvy tank and I'm trying to run both as bean animal. I noticed on some of the earlier pics that there was only valves on your full siphon, then I noticed that you had put a valve on the open channel of one of the boxes, was that needed to balance both so to aide in the restart? Seeing your build has helped me in visualizing the completion of my plumbing. cudos to you!

You definitely DO NOT need a valve on your open channel. I have one on mine only because that was the original full siphon line. I switched last minute but left the valve. You only need control valves on the full siphon lines.
Make sure you install the safety line on top of the open channel, so it will "turn" into a full siphon if the water level gets too high in the overflow. Do you need some pictures of this?

Good idea! ...however, I already installed the "reverse" backflow valve and it works .

Greatly appreciate your response, I understand what you are saying about the open channel, the line provides air, until it is occluded by water then the open channel becomes a full siphon. Cool Beans-Dual Beans

Keep the camera lens parallel to the aquarium's panes to avoid distortion. Play with the white balance on your camera to get more realistic colours. There's a whole forum on RC about taking reef pictures and the camera kit and skills required.

YEA...Well I actually have 15 in already (anthias, chromis, wrasses, misc) I plan on finishing up the coral installation (although one is never "finished!!")
...Then stocking with larger Tangs and Fox Face and Clowns

I can't rush my fish stocking because I do not consider my tank "settled in" yet (even though the parameters are solid). If I finish stocking too soon I might push the biology of the tank over its limit.

Oh no I fully agree and I knew there were more fish in there. Just thought it was funny in that particular shot.
