My temp varies between 78 to 81. It may not have been the temp. I don't really know how long everything was off. All I know is it was on when I left at 7 this morning.

Well if you thought it was a madhouse last weekend then words won't describe what it will be like this weekend.

I am disappointed today. I took a ride to Pets Warehouse hoping to finally get that male swallowtail I have been looking for. They had 2 there, but they were way too big. They couldn't find the other 2.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a fish and/or invert that will eat bristleworms, but won't touch christmas tree worms, feather dusters or corals?

I'm actually asking about Eunicid sp. of worms, they are the same size as medium bristleworms, they are becoming more numerous in my system and the larger ones like to nip my TBS brains

Pics!

Here are some pics I took the other night.

I found this guy on the overflow when I turned everything on from my power loss yesterday.

Some new additions.

Great pics Dennis! Looks like most everything did ok with the power loss. I love that picture of the hawkfish.

The angel seems like the only casualty and I'm not entirely sure the loss of power had anything to do with it.

That's great Bob! Boy your tank must have lots of "popping" with that many pistol shrimp.

I have some fun stuff with my tank right now too...my ricordea had a new baby (I'll try to get a pic tonight) and my lights showed up on Friday. I'm started building the hood this weekend but won't finish it up for a while. I'll post pics of it whenever I finally get it onto the tank

Fabulous pictures Dennis! Makes me miss my camera

For those of you that run ASM skimmers on their tanks, where do you keep the foam level in the skimmer? Mine is barely 1/2" below the point where it spills into the collection cup and I'm getting a wet tea colored skimmate. I would like to get a darker skimmate, sounds like I need to lower the level?

Of course my skimmer is still breaking in, but it is doing better than my old skimmer already 2 cups of skimmate in 3 days, probably another cup when I get home tonight.

Brian

Brian,

Yes to your skimmer question. I don't have an ASM but the concept is the same. For Dryer/Darker skimmate, lower the point the foam begins to be produced. Raise it for wetter skimmate.

Been doing a lot of reading lately trying to dial my overkill skimmer in too.

Brian
