75g Reef Run Only With HOB Filter?
2 years ago I tore down my old 75g undrilled reef tank and upgraded to a 120g, and had plans to sell it off with the stand and everything, but 2 years later and it's still sitting in my storage unit and at this point I'm considering setting it up in my bedroom, using all the other fish tank junk have lying around that's just taking up space. I used to run a HOB overflow on the 75g, but due to past issues with it, and especially due to how noisy that is, I've decided to skip a sump altogether. I've still got my old Coralife Aqualight t5 fixture sitting in my closet and more live rock than I need sitting in my sump (I have roughly 300 lbs in the 120), along with a large Aquaclear HOB filter I bought years ago and never used, that I thought I could stick some Chemipure in. All I would need to go out and buy would be a couple bags of Nature's Ocean sand. I was thinking I could fill this tank with macroalgae and other weird things that likely wouldn't successfully coexist in my 120. Dealing with a tank of well established live rock, live sand, powerheads and a HOB filter (along with some macro), what do you think the maintenance would look like? For fish I was thinking a goby/shrimp pair, longnose butterfly (which would make short work of the feather dusters and urchins in my 120) and some of the cooler, more benign damsels (Bleeker's, springeri, turnate etc.). Corals would just be simple, prolific softies - leathers, Kenya tree, xenia, zoanthids etc. What do you guys think about this idea? Should I just sell it all off, despite the fact that I probably wouldn't make too much off of this stuff anyways, or would it be worth it to set up a simple, unique, easy(er) maintenance tank?

with good water changes should be no issue.- its just a larger version of a all in one tank.
