Radion Upgrades and Black Power Packs

So apparently there is a new power supply for the radions.
When I upgrade my G1 to a G3 do I get the new powerpack? Will the old powerpacks still be serviceable? What if one of my old powerpacks dies can it be replaced with a black pack? How does the battery backup plug into these new black powerpacks?

Dave,

Should you upgrade your Radion you will not need a new power supply. Additionally, if you are to have a power supply fail you can purchase a new "desktop" style power supply as a replacement. Finally, only G1 Radions are compatible with the Battery Backup. Upgrading your light to a G3 or G3Pro would make it no longer compatible or switching to the new power supply would no longer allow you to use the Battery Backup.

I didn't even know that the Radions can be connected to the battery backup.
I have had 3 of the battery backups connected to 2 MP40s for the past 3 years. Thankfully in that time, I've never had to deal with power outages lasting more that a few minutes.

So if I upgrade to gen 3 (which I am about to do) And continue to use the gen power supply will the back battery still work?
Thanks
