what do i need to run a 2nd tank

I have the apex with everything on a reef tank. what would I need to buy to run a 2nd tank on it. the 2nd tank is a planted freshwater tank with co2

Depends on what you use on the reef tank and what you need for the planted tank.
I would think that you would need at least an additional pH/temperature module and likely also a power bar.
As for making the different tanks distinguishable, all you need to do is create a dedicated dashboard for each tank.

thanks. yea, ph ,temp and lights. buy the time I buy the parts, for 50 more I can get the whole basic apex. how will the wi fi see 2 head units?

WiFi is not a problem. Even if you have two base units they will have different serial and MAC numbers and each will have to have its own unique IP addresse within the network.
Apex Fusion recognizes the different base units by their serial numbers.
