Why does the scrubber algae turn brown

After I clean the screen the algae grows dark green especially on the sides and bottom. When the 3rd or 4th day comes the top part of the algae starts getting brown streaks why is this? What can I do to keep it always growing dark green and thick?

Could your screen be too big?

from top to bottom about 1/2 inch thick but thinner in other areas. Grows to the bottom of screen becomes the darkest green and covers the entire surface below about 1 - 2 inches thick.

It's growing thicker in parts where it's not getting direct light? Could you be over lighting?

The ATS is based off of how much you feed no? Have you tried manually removing what's in the DT and see what happens?

Does it turn brown or get brown stuff on top of it?

It looks to me like the algae that's turning brown doesn't have a good hold on the screen. I wonder if its getting bleached out from being closer to the light?

The brown algae is closer to the bulbs trying to experiment reducing lighting periods with some of the bulbs. I have 4 fixtures 2 led and 2 cfls.
