50,000 litre tank in a boutique hotel (Bangkok , Thailand)

Finally decided to use metal halides instead of LED due to the depth of the tank .

I think that it a wise choice given the depth and size of the tank. 16 metal halides should do it!

Can't wait to see this come together. Will you be adding some additional ambient lighting, such as LED? I think this would be great so that the tank continues to amaze and be on display at night, after the halides have switched off.

Some nice reef brite strips or such around to give it the nightly pop

Which model are you looking at? The afc400 one I am looking at costs about 50% more than the ecm 75s

But they do move more water, use less electricity and have a 10 year warranty

10 year warranty doesn't matter if you can't get ahold of the company...

The AFC400 is $8150 SRP I just saw from https://www.abyzzamerica.com/

I was suggesting to do closed loops with the A400 models, the afc looks gigantic

What algae are you going to be growing? My personally advice would be have a little less rock in there, add some powerheads for more flow.

What lighting are you planning to run? It looks like you are running red spectrum? It may benefit you to run some addditonal spectrum there. I have had much better results with a wider range of macro algae with a 6400k light source than red.

I respectfully disagree from my personal experience messing around with red/blue spectrums and macro algae. I have a much better experience with 6400K (which is a little bit blue) from a CFL light source.

Have you decided to replace the ECM pumps with the Abyzz flow cannon?
