No, you can control it from its controller that's come with it.

Over a 60×24×24 mixxed sps tank do you think the 48" four bulb would be enough... Or should I spring for the 8 bulb?

I had a 60" 8 bulb ati that I liked but thought it was too much. Now I've got two Kessil 350s but miss the spread... And think these hybrids are just the thing.

Soo.. 48 four or eight bulb?

Go the 4 bulb. I run mine with 4 bulbs on and get great coverage on my 30 wide tank. I only use all 8 for an hour a day You get heaps of usable high par light with 4 plus the led

Rodney do you have any updated pictures of your tank under the LEd PM? I'm interested in switching from Radions.

Are you getting good color on the sides of the SPS? I've noticed LED's are so directional that SPS look terrible from a direct 90 degree view.

Won't the t5 take care of any issues like that?

Absolutely. I'm only using the leds for shimmer and moon light.

Slightly off topic, but using the LEDs as a moonlight.. do corals still open up to feed at night?

For those that have the 8 bulb units, what t5 bulb combo are you using? I'd like to recreate my current 10 bulb combo but with the t5s.

I currently run 2 purple plus, 6 blue plus, and 2 GE 6500K

I was thinking:
2 purple plus, 2 AB special, 4 blue plus or 2 P+, with the P+ and B+ as the dusk/dawn lights.

Also, has anyone heard an eta on the 60" lights?

I have an 8 bulb with 5x blue+, 1x P+ and 2x ABS. I have the blue+ on channel 1 for dusk/dawn and ramp the LEDs from blue+ 0% to ABS 50% for the Day. I've had it for a week now and enjoy this combo so far.

That's a nice video.. I'm glad there is some shimmer, I was a bit worried that the T5s would swamp it -- and that's a nice Cirrus in your avatar!

+1 like to know what combo recommended to SPS tank

I am ordering the 60" to my 180 gallon 72" x24"x24" (swap my Radion pro)

As far as I know from reef geek it will take about month to get them....

Thank you. It has good shimmer.

Here is a video with a MH/T5 fixture in place:

Giesemann 2X250 watt/Megachrome 20K, 4X54 watt T5's (ATI B+, P+, C+, B+)

http://youtu.be/ciYH4XwXM9A

if anyone wants to compare.

v1 rotate...

My biggest gripe is the acrylic shield. I hate how it sags in the middle. Otherwise awesome.

I was just noticing that myself. My old powermodule did that too.

Something I've always grudgingly accepted only because the rest of it is bad arse.

I think they both look great and I have no doubt this light will be a winner for many reasons. My personal preference would be the Geismann, that color was perfect IMO.

when you say channel one, do you mean that you can invidually control the t5s? I thought it was 4 and 4 in terms of control. I was thinking of possibly using 3 B+ plus 1 P+ for dusk/dawn or possibly using the blue leds for dusk dawn.

If it's split 2 and 6, that would make it easy to do b+/p+ for dusk/dawn.

Making the switch Roni? The t5's are 2 on one switch and 6 on the other.

see, trying to trick me Hit a nice milestone at work and figured I'd treat myself

4 and 4 makes it tougher for dusk/dawn. What i really miss is how the vho true actinics looked like for dusk/dawn. I haven't played with the LEDs. I wonder if I could use the LEDs for that effect.

Something like:

12:00 pm -4:00 pm (ramp blue LEDs from 0-100); 8-11:00 pm ramp blue LEDs from 100-0)
4:00 pm -6:00 ramp up white LEDs from (0-100 and then slowly ramp back down from 6:00-8:00)
2-10pm (2 B+ and 2 P+) for "dusk/dawn"
4-9 pm (all 8 t5 (4 B+, 2 P+, 2 AB sp)

Basically, that would have peak intensity will all lights on with a 14K look from 4-8 with varying intensities over a total photoperiod of 11 hours.

Pretty confusing but haven't played with LEDs before. Does this make any sense?
