I drained have my tank and scooted the stand forward a few inches. The APS stands are pretty sturdy. I like matrix and it controlled my nitrates pretty well until i filled my tank with too much stuff. I did the fuge in the media chamber too but it didnt do enough for my phosphates and nitrates, hence all my extra reactors and the cpr fuge. Dealing with GHA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Does anyone know what type of anemone this is? It keeps moving around, but just popped up out of no where. Tank is a couple months old.

It may be a bleached green bta. It also resembles a newly formed Ritteri, but I do not know how a Ritteri could grow in the tank out of no where...

Looks like a weak bta. Hopefully some light and feeding it will get it back to full strength Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Definitely not aptasia or majano. I agree that it looks like an unhealthy bta. The rocks looks like dry rock or very new live rock. Anemones often won’t do well in new tanks until they are more established or biology-parameters stabilize.

That’s a Lemonpeel Angelfish - they’re notoriously bad in reefs but they do better in SPS tanks than softies and LPS. You just have to make sure you’re okay with the possibility they could nip at coral if you decide to get one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

im getttin ready to order the nuvo 40 but i dont want to use the factory stand . Have any of you used something different for a stand that worked out well and is better built than the IM stand for 350.00. Im thinkin of a vanity with some sort of top on it right now , just checkin for better suggestions. TIA

I'm using the IM APS stands and they are amazing. They are made of alluminum, easy to build and strong. Couple viedos on them at either IM or MD. But a custom stands are always cool looking too. Just remember the weight of tank on a vanity?

Instead of the Hydrofill from IM, I installed an AutoAqua Smart ATO micro. Very happy with it.

Knowing what I know now I would have seriously looked at Aquamax or Reef Octopus HOB skimmers. Tunze was difficult for some on older post setting it up.
Do you have a good schedule for Hydra? I use it still trying to dial it in. Can't wait to see shots of your build. |
