I'm going to get a hold of a kill-a-watt to measure what mine is really pull I bet it's in the 40-50 range. But it's pulls out black tar. Came from a sca-302, this makes me wish I started this tank with one of these.

I’ve been waiting on the Sicce ADV forever... at this point, it seems like vapor ware. Leaning toward the Fluval SP4 again.

My dcp10000 is working terrific as well have it turned to 80% which amounts to about 1600 gph. Milky white foam, super turbulent inside the body, pitch black skimmate

Hello reefers!
I am going to be setting up a 350 gallon reef setup with probably 100 gallons of sump/refugium/frag tank. I am leaning towards a Lifereef skimmer. Do you think the SVS3-36 will be enough? It is rated up to 600 gallons. I am leaning towards an external skimmer possibly. Does the external perform as well or better than the in sump version? I would honestly just call Jeff. He will ask you a ton of questions about your system like how you want to stock it, future plans, carbon dosing plans, etc. and will recommend accordingly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sump it self (no reactors or skimmer) for a tank that size I would guess would push a 1k. With all the goodies thrown in and shipping your looking at at least $2500. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This is why I started saving money for this build even though it’s a couple years away. You get what you pay for and I don’t want to skimp our on this setup. |

I have a Lifereef SVS3 24 on the way. It will go good with the custom lifereef sump Jeff is going to build for me.

Hey I need y’alls opinions. Do you think it with worth the extra cost to Red or green acrylic on skimmer and sump?

1. If sump is closed off then NO. 2. If sump is part of the display, then MAYBE 3. If sump is part of display, plumbing and area is aesthetically pleasing, then YES.

I agree that it doesn’t do anything but it does look bad ***. It would be 50 now for the skimmer and 50 in February when he builds the sump. My sump is closed off, but was thinking of opening it up and adding a black light or something if I went with color.

I picked up a sump from him back in March I think it was and it may be visible. Standard color though. My tank rests on a steel stand so have a couple options in play to maybe box it in to match my wainscot. If I managed my plumbing a bit better I would consider leaving it open. I still may but in my case I went clear because I wasn't sure. Good luck with your decision. I'm sure you will rock it either way

Well I went with the everything normal. The svs3 came in yesterday, and is already forming skim. Today my lifereef custom ATO container shipped out, when it gets here I can run my Tunze osmolator 3155 I got on Black Friday if I recall for a $115-125. Now I’m on to my next struggle getting the refugium led light nailed down for when I get my lifereef sump and refugium.
