Well most SPS require good lighting. Good LED fixtures can grow them with no problem, as well as LED/t5 hybrid, MH/t5 fixtures or even standalone t5 and MH ones.

I've been running this Maxspec light for awhile now and love it. You would need a couple of them and they run 400 a pop but they are cheaper than an Ecotech option and good quality. Only one would need to come with the controller so it would cost a bit less after the initial light but you can set up times and sunrises/sets and save 8 schedules.

Do you want LED or T5 or MH? You said "well priced"... Give a real budget? $300? 600? 1000? What are the dimensions of your 150 gallon? Center brace on it? If LED do you want any features like wifi control, sunrise/sunset, storm modes? If t5 do you want dimmable?

I have a 60"x24"x24" 150g tank and use a 48" 6 bulb, 54w each, with 2 48" Reef Brite all blue XHO strips (one down each side) that are 12" above the water line. I can grow LPS, SPS, and softies with this combo. I just have to be careful to put some corals out of the most intense ares. So like others have said, it really depends on what you want to grow, tank dimensions, etc. With more specs and we can provide a better selection.

Viparspectras here for nearly a year. Great soft and LPS growth. As the tank has matured my SPS have been growing as well. I am very satisfied with these lights.
Controllable on both channels and timers for each with remotes. https://www.amazon.com/VIPARSPECTRA-...arspectra+reef

Tank is 6 foot by 2 foot with center brace. Looking for under $600 that can grow sps and Lps. Want to be dimmable with sunrise and sunset program so I don't have to worry about cutting it on and off.

You might need to sacrifice on the sunrise/sunset... Also.. do you want LED? or are you ok with yearly (or more) bulb replacement costs associated with t5/MH bulbs?

No sunrise/sunset, but that feature is typically not in the expensive high end fixtures anyhow. Choosing equipment, especially when starting out and particularly lighting, can be a daunting task. As mentioned above start with some research. Also there is an entire section and many many threads dedicated to lighting. Possibly one of the top three discussed reefing topics IMO.

Check out Reefbreeders. I like my Photon V2 48". Ask Logan if a 50" will cover a 6' x 24" tank.

Same as Robzilla04, Visparspectra, had them for a year now as well. Completely wiped out my old T5,s I have great coral growth, softies, LPS, SPS and clams all doing great.
I use 1 for each 24x24x24 (max) cubic area, 19 inches above the water, comes with ceiling hanging kit. Was 169 dollars Canadian and delivered, so say 135 ish in those great US bucks. |

I also use Viparspectras. Its light output is great, though a bit confusing to program.
