Backgound

The link is to a video of a guy making a background. You don't need to watch it if you'd rather not.
My question is that this guy is using cement and concrete on foam. This can't be safe for a reef tank can it?

Thanks

As long as you let it cure properly it’s just fine. Do a search on “diy rock” for the details

The short story is you need to either use the right type of cement and/or let it cure long enough so it does not cause a pH issue. It can drive your pH way up.

Maybe you could use some type of sealer that is reef safe?
