Buying LED lights secondhand
Considering buying a few ETM Radion G4 pros soon.
If you were to buy them used what’s a few questions you’d ask? How would the answers affect the price? What’s a ballpark on these on this point? Finally, are Radions still the gold standard in LED’s? Returning from a long break, trying to update myself, thanks everyone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Welcome back! The Radion G4 Pro is amazing, I’m running two over my newly setup Reefer 625. While I can’t speak for their growing power, my old single G1 grew acros like weeds so I’m VERY anxious to see what these things can do. I would find out how long they were used for and at what intensity. I find people usually run then between 50-70 percent which I think is a good number. Any more than that and I’d be a little wary. As far as price point I’d say $600-$700 is going to be fair. IMHO, I’d probably spend the extra few hundred on something new and not worry about it, have a warranty, etc, but that’s just me. First let the seller set the initial price. Know what 1/2 of current retail is.. bargain from there. They're at most 3 years old afaict. Ask about fan noise or any power supply problems. ask if the fans were ever replaced or stopped. Unfortunately these are fairly new (good thing w/ a low price) but fairly high demand (bad thing to get a low price) but that's the sellers choice. Ask about what it comes with controller, mounting brackets.. Those you should consider add 1/2 of their retail to the price. Ask if they ever hit water. Look for dirt salt stains. |

I completely agree to start at 1/2 of new and negotiate from there. Be prepared to be accused of low balling since people tend to overprice their used stuff. If a gen4 were around two years old (don’t recall how long they’ve been out), I’d pay $500 max for the 30 ($250 for the 15). Otherwise I just buy new.
