identification
Hi all,
I wondering what it is. I have air bubbles everywhere, on the rock and sand even In the sand. On the rock is only air bubbles, on the sand is what You see on the photos. The aquarium have 2 years, what do You think what it is? cyano, dino? Or mabye somthing else? I wondering how to get rid of it. Thanks for help. |

i get that too on my mixed reef from time to time. it usually occurs for me when i run my white lights (4 hydra 26 leds) more than normal. pretty sure algae related. i usually run blue/violet/uv only for few days and it recedes. good luck.

It's probably just oxygen being produced through photosynthesis. (algae growth)

I agree that the bubbles are oxygen. The red slime might be cyanobacteria, or could be dinoflagellates. Cyanobacteria sometimes can be removed with a bit of GFO or other nutrient control. I'd likely start there, although it doesn't always work.

I agree, i have lots of the white light, maybe this is the problem. I will try turn off the white light for 2 days and i will see what happend. I afraid what happend when I turn on the white light again.... hmmm. How to deal with it when the air bubbels come back?
