My hammer went from two heads to six heads in nine months but I had super high nitrates and phosphates and I was feeding them mysis I want running a sump had a hob skimmer, now I have a sump with Chaeto in it we'll see if it grows slower or even faster considering I've been feeding my tank heavy and the nitrates have been holding at 5 ppm for the last three weeks with no water change Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Tank looks great! What settings do you have your radion set at? I have the x15w over mine and right now im still just using a basic setting. Do you use a preloaded setting or did you put together your own custom settings? Thanks.

Thanks! I'm running the sps+ab at 70% intensity. Light is at least 16 inches off of surface of water. The setting runs a little bit too blue at first but I actually ended up liking it a lot especially for the zoas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hey Aggie, I live in katy and I will be getting this tank for Christmas. What local store(s) do you visit around here? I would like to pick your brain on some things before I start this adventure to make sure I am starting off in the right direction.

Sure thing! I often go to ocean life or FJW for all my fish needs. Are you gonna try sps on this tank? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes I do.
My biggest questions are the setup for the filtration and everything that goes with that. I had a biocube a few years back and spent a small fortune trying to get it correct. Eventually the tank started to leak so I sold off everything. |

My setup is pretty basic! The only mechanical filtration I have is a piece of filter floss I switch out every 3-4 days. It's housed in the intank media basket. Below that is a bag of purigen. ( it needs to be recharged). The chamber next to it is where I have my fuge basket with a big chunk of chaeto. Housed in the intank fuge basket for easy removal when I trim it. It's literally full of pods, sponges and bristleworms. I have a minimax media reactor with GFO in the other chamber since I have issues with bubble algae and that's it! ~4 gallon water change every two weeks and boom. I would say biggest thing is keeping alk and calcium stable. I use one BRS 1.1 ml doser to dose alk and I manually dose calc every few days Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Update on my tank. Took the fuge basket and gfo reactor offline since I've been dosing vibrant. Seems to do a pretty decent job killing off nuisance algae. I might put gfo reactor back online however. Some fun shots of my tank with a wide angle and fish eye lens

Nice setup, but doesn't the heater fit in the back of the overflow?
