What is this???
So I finally found a male scribble to put with my female. He was in a qt tank with a sponge filter for about a month. All was well, he was eating, had great color etc. Then one morning I noticed small white spots on him. Very hard to see if you were looking at his side. But if you looked at him from the front, he looked fuzzy. So I started treating him with quinine sulfate, no improvement after a week. Then I started copper and he still got worse. The last day I used copper, he was covered and breathing very hard. I thought the fish was going to die. So I removed him and cleaned the qt tank and gave him a 30 sec fresh water bath. He still looked the same when I put him back into the clean qt tank, and I added meth blue and kanaplex. Over the next few days the fuzz kept falling off and he looked clean, but pale and he could not swim right at all. Started to stay in the corner with his head down and tail up. Then he couldn't hold himself down in the water. Then he started to swim upside down and in circles. After 6 days in the meth blue and kanaplex, he just got better and started to swim normal again, color came back and he started eating after one week. But on the yellow bar on the top of his head, he still has these larger white spots that are raised and really look like a pimple. So after trying all types of meds, I decided to add prazi pro. He looks normal except for these large white head pimples. I am assuming that he had a good case of velvet before, but I don't know what to do about the pimples. They actually look like they have little strings coming out of the top of the white spot. Do you guys think that they are flukes or some other type of parasite. I am stumped. I am really amazed that this fish turned around the way he did and I really don't want to loose him now after all that he has survived.
Thanks for any input...... |
