3 week reefer

Hello people,on my 3rd week cycling. Its a 48x18x18 . wish I would have came here and read a little first. ...I already want bigger.my first problem..... I made the sump DIY with not thinking much with no room for skimmer. What are my options...as I not to sure about hob.I was told they are worth less is water height varies?

How high is the water level in the middle compartment in the sump

Looks like your missing couple or just 1 of baffles. You could take the sump out & add more while your still cycle stages

In that picture I was low on Water I needed top off.8in of water when filled.

Why not put the skimmer in the middle?

skimmer is much more important than a fuge in this matter.

You don't want the skimmer in the middle. It should be in the area of the sump where there is constant water level. The middle will change with evaporation. You may also get micro bubbles in the display from the skimmer if it's in the return compartment.
