You did what??
So I sold about a dozen corals to a guy yesterday. Today I get a text asking where I keep my alk. I tell him 10. Well a couple minutes later I get a text from the same guy telling me that his reef was at 6 so he went ahead and dosed it up to 10.
Cheers! Mark

My tanks did well, everything grew fast at 10.
But that was before the ultra low nutrient craze. lol

Mistakes can be the best learning experiences..
7-11dkh is typically an acceptable range and corals seem to do just fine in that range as long as the value is kept stable.. Its rapid changes/swings that seem to cause stress/coral demise,etc...

I agree it's the rapid changes that sometimes seem to lead to problems.

Yup, think of it in terms of the damage caused by the sudden decrease of speed in a traffic accident. Hitting something is much different at 25 than at 2.5 mph

Just imagine the ph swing that poor tank must have seen. Though if it was empty before maybe not as big a deal
