I’m not recommending it but I am trying it I have a brand new bag and a clown fish with Popeye in the same tank so instead of moving them to separate tanks I have been micro dosing the tank Popeye went away and the anemone recovered with no Ill effects to any inverts or anything else

I've been keeping an eye on this thread because I have a red carpet anemone that I'm not quite sure of... It was sold as a Haddoni but it's noticeably different than other Haddoni I have (including a second red). No visible spots on the column suggests Haddoni along with the color, but the shape and size of the tentacles and the way they twitch makes me think Gigantea. Might this be another red Gigantea or some less likely hybrid? It's the red carpet in the back right area of the carpet cluster.

They both look like Haddoni to me too with one health and the other a little stressed

It’s a Haddoni. Did it pick the spot on its own or did you place it on the rock yourself? It doesn’t seem like a baby Haddoni so it’s a little strange the anemone isn’t on the sandbed.

It crawled up there (was on the open sand bed up front but either had too much light or flow and moved back to a partially shaded area under a rock pillar). All three seem to want to be in the same spot. Hard to tell from the photos but there's gaps in the rock it's sitting on and is working down into the sand between the gaps.

got back Sunday night and found the Gig under all the rocks. I removed a few rocks and found it very low in the dark. not good. Mouth is loose and foot is not sticky. I moved it up to the middle again and found it falling back down after the night.

at the same time, one of my recovering green Haddoni is looking like crap too. He was doing well from a powerhead injury 2 months ago. growing back to a full circle and now it's moving and expeling.

Uh oh. I've had this happen with anemones where one is declining and another healthy in the same tank begins to decline too. Not sure if this is a biochemical reaction, or biological, but you may consider removing the gig and QTing it or even starting treatment again. In my experience if the anemone declines after initial treatment, the second treatment doesn't do much. Still worth a shot.

If the gig appears to be declining in the DT, I would remove it immediately. There's nothing in the DT that would cause a miraculous recovery.

The reason why I always QT without meds for at least a week is to make sure that the nem is strong enough to withstand any pathogens or biochemicals (a result of allelopathy?) that may be present in the DT.

I am sorry to hear. And as much as we try to do our best sometimes it’s just out of our control how an anemone will adapt to captivity after treatment. I hope your rare gig recovers soon and you start enjoying it.

Hope it pulls through. What would be considered a good price for a healthy red carpet Haddoni? Beautiful looking anemones that's for sure!

Damn. I was really wanting to see how this one turned out. Sucks to hear it sounds like you’re going to lose it. Crazy how tough these guys are to get healthy

If it were my anemone it would be out of the DT. Giganteas are very touchy animals and you moved really quickly with this one, IMHO. I am not trying to make you feel bad I would just have it out of the DT and into a smaller controlled environment ASAP.
