This little area turned out well for me. The zoas grew around the cavern in the rock leaving a cave of zoas.

That's a great photo. It really looks so natural. How about a full tank shot.

That's awesome! What did it start as, and how long did it take to get to that point?

Wow. Some beautiful colonies you guys have. Still trying to sort everything out in my tank and still learning, but hopefully I can get to this level one day. Inspired!

The photography on that "fire and ice" is amazing. I mean the colony is stunning, and the picture really does it justice. sometime i feel like pictures, and videos do not do reef tanks justice, but this is one instance where that is simply not true.

Joe,
What is the little orange fish you have there? Kinda cool.
And when you listed your lighting. Are the first 4 items ATI T5s?
So mix between ATI T5s and LEDs?

So you all keep a separate "mother" frag of the Zoanthids to seed again or place in your DT and watch em grow. BTW all really nice gardens folks.

any issues with zoas growing so densely that they completely eliminate certain colonies?

Did you guys all start off with just a small frag of them and let them grow? Or did you buy large colonies of them?

How long does it take for a 15 polup frag to actually cover an entire rock like a 10x10" section?

Just converted my FOWLR to a beginner reef and bought a lot of zoas but they are just on frag plugs. 10 scattered frag plugs of zoas look awfully small in a 180 DT.

Thanks!!!!

Give it time. I have a frag that started off with around 15 that is pushing 50+ now. I have another that started as 4 around the same time and is now 6 . Many grow at different speeds.

The one that went from 15 to 50, how long did that one take?
