Looks like you're having a great summer, Glenn. One small correction - those are kayaks, not canoes.

Is that low tide, when the corals poke through the sea's surface?

Yes, definitely time for a metre-deep tank, by my reckoning.

love your reef, everything is thriving, including several hard to keep species, and your photographs are beautiful, thanks for sharing

Thanks,
i am aware that i have something, that's why i bother sharing.
180 specie in a limited space without any water change for nearly 10 years is something that many people say can't be done. I got news... it can be done. i have been doing this for a long time and more intensive than most people and with great results. ( i have been doing fresh water since age 10)

It may seem i am a newbie in here , but I sure am no newbie to this hobby.

Hello Glenn, your tank is thriving as usual and glad to see all is going well. I had emailed you early in the year when i was setting up my tank regarding your DSR method and I wish i had followed through with it...I'm having major nitrate issues like 50-60ppm!

Your tank has always been stunning. But since your corals like to reach, can you make them reach way over here to my tank?

Thanks.

There are many ways to battle NO3, i find the easiest is carbon dosing. But you need to watch out with carbon dosing, because there are a few pitfalls to it. Something many people don't realize. Some people crashed their tank due to uncontrolled carbon dosing.

Tried using carbon dosing, combination of sugar and vinegar but it had no effect after 2 weeks of dosing it. Right now i am trying with the use of a sulfur denitrator.
